In France, accidents with intervention vehicles are one of the great dangers on the motorways. To encourage motorists to be careful, several violently damaged vans are on display at the Narbonne rest area, in Aude.
The accident was narrowly avoided, but the Vinci Autoroutes intervention truck was struck successively by the two heavy goods vehicles. This event, which occurred two days ago on the A7, brings to 31 the number of yellow trucks hit since the start of the year, i.e. one accident per week. The image sends shivers down your spine. On the A9 motorway rest area of Narbonne-Vinassan Nord, 18 damaged trucks, crushed wrecks, are lined up one behind the other.

“It is often the drivers of heavy goods vehicles who do not respect their safety distance and who do not respect the safety corridor either. It is necessary to deport, put the indicator on the left and also warn the users who are behind and put on the hazard lights”, says Benoît Ramel, Vinci Autoroutes works supervisor.
