Thiphaine Muller left for 18 months in America, covering 30,000 km. And one of the countries that has marked it the most is Canada.
Tiphaine rode across Canada on an expedition bike, “quite heavy, very resistant, and we had almost no mechanical problems. With its four panniers, it was very comfortable. Thanks to the bike, you can more easily go off the beaten track, and see as many things as possible. It’s also a very good way to meet people.”
The exploration of Canada started on Vancouver Island, we had to push the bikes on the ferry. “It’s very practical! We followed the route of the Trans Canada trail, which also takes us through forests in the middle of nowhere.”
North of Vancouver, Tiphaine joined the Olympic town of Whistler.“And there, we saw a bear in the city! Precisely in a ball in a tree. He must have gotten lost, a police device was there to evacuate him. Impressive. “
She also rode to Banff National Park in the Rocky Mountains. “Because of the grizzlies, there must be four of us to hike. On the picnic tables, we don’t leave crumbs! The blue lakes and the landscapes are spectacular.”
“I like being outside of this consumer society, and getting back to basics. We don’t have everything right away. By going back to basics, I feel a lot more like myself.”
