A new government marked by continuity and efficiency, this is the wish expressed by Emmanuel Macron during an exceptional Council of Ministers, Friday July 21. The President of the Republic also spoke about his objectives and his priorities for the future.
Friday, July 21, THE first Council of Ministers of the new government took place, under the eye of the cameras. Emmanuel Macron reaffirmed his priorities. “The course is clear and simple: it is that of the country’s independence, in order to be able to consolidate a fairer model”, did he declare. Four files are essential: education, health, ecological planning and republican order.
The opposition is not convinced
He also renewed his confidence in Elisabeth Borne, and issued a warning to members of the government: “Ministers lead their administration. Being a minister is not about speaking in office”. A first trip, very media-friendly, has been done in the afternoon by Gabriel Attal, the new Minister of Education. In the eyes of some, this redesign is mainly cosmetic. “We are in an area of instability and turbulence, and it’s not over. A government changed on July 20 is not a political act but a managerial one”confides a minister.
