At the opening of the Council of Ministers at 11 a.m. on Friday morning, Emmanuel Macron gave directives to the reshuffled government, urging them to be “exemplary” and to always act “with the greatest dignity”.
Emmanuel Macron spoke for the first time before the new government, during his speech at the opening of the Council of Ministers, Friday July 21. While the transfers of power ended this morning, the President of the Republic asked the new members of his team to be “exemplary” and act “always with the greatest dignity”reminding them in passing that they are “looked at in every detail” of their “action”, of their “phrases” and their “life”.

The President of the Republic also recalled the duty of the government towards the French: “act”, “explain”, “answer”. “Being a minister is not about speaking in office, it is about implementing decisions”, did he declare.
Emmanuel Macron concluded his introductory remarks by recalling the need to “to regain” a balance that “the Republic has lost”, that of a government that “gives clear directions” and “lets people do things in the field with intelligence and flexibility”.
