The SAQ reached an agreement in principle on Tuesday evening with the union representing its 800 warehouse employees.

“Following the resumption of negotiations on Monday, December 13, we are pleased to share that the SAQ and the STTSAQ union have reached an agreement in principle this evening,” wrote the state corporation in a brief press release sent in the middle. evening.

Details of the agreement will be presented to distribution center employees on Friday and Saturday.

“We will let the employees decide on the offer that will be submitted to them and we will communicate any useful information to you in the coming days,” adds the SAQ.

Bargaining resumed nearly a week ago, after CUPE local members rejected by 86% the tentative agreement that was initially reached with the employer on November 29.

The union had agreed to suspend its strike to resume negotiations.

The 800 employees concerned work in the SAQ’s warehouses and are responsible in particular for supplying branches and restaurants.

Among the issues in dispute are wages, occupational health and safety issues and overtime.
