A 26-year-old man, suspected of having stolen the personal data of employees of the newspaper Le Monde, was arrested on Wednesday in Villiers-Saint-Frédéric, in the Yvelines, learned franceinfo Monday July 17 from a source familiar with the matter. The man was fraudulently gaining access to the socio-cultural activities management system of the works council of the Le Monde group. It was thus able to recover the personal data of 2,800 group employees, active or retired. This data was then grouped together in a file that he offered for sale on the darknet under cover of a pseudonym.
