(Amityville) Detectives investigating the Gilgo Beach serial murders raided a warehouse in the Amityville, Long Island community over the weekend, police said.
Suffolk County Police confirmed on Monday that detectives executed a search warrant at Omega Self Storage as part of the investigation that led to the arrest last week of architect Rex Heuermann. He was charged on Friday with murder for three of 11 victims whose bodies were found buried along a secluded beach road.

Mr Heuermann, who for decades has lived across the bay from where the remains were found, was first identified as a suspect in the murders in March 2022, when detectives linked him to a van that a witness said he saw when one of the victims disappeared in 2010.
Mr. Heuermann denies having committed the crimes, according to his lawyer, Michael Brown.
It was unclear what connection the Amityville warehouse had to the investigation.
A police vehicle was still parked in the warehouse behind yellow tape on Monday after detectives conducted the search on Sunday.
