It was on Instagram that Laurent Ruquier officially announced his departure from France 2, after several weeks of reflection. And, for a few days, the forecasts were going well… The Parisian even announced its arrival on TF1! On the social network, the host wrote not without hiding his disappointment: “I no longer have the confidence of France 2 and no more bonuses from “Children of TV” or “Big heads” next season. It’s time to think about other horizons”. And to thank all its employees after 23 years of good and loyal service: “I would like to thank all the producers-producers and directors-directors who allowed me to continue “We tried everything” (8 years of daily) “We are not in bed” (15 seasons) “We only ask to laugh at it” (Daily which for several years has revealed today’s best comedians) “Les Enfants De la Tv” (For six seasons already and whose return to France 2 is now a big success) Without forgetting “We are live” which for two years will have enabled, among other things, to reveal Philippe Caveriviere. And to remember: “Through all these years on France 2 I had already had the pride of introducing you to Franck Dubosc , Jean Luc Lemoine , Florence Foresti , Kev Adams , Nicole Ferroni , Waly Dia , Artus, Jeremy Ferrari , Ahmed Syllla, Constance or Léa Salamé… I can’t all ( you quote them.” Without forgetting the audience:Above all, I would like to thank the viewers for their constantly renewed trust and loyalty. This confidence, for three seasons, I no longer have it from the management of France 2. It’s a shame but that’s the way it is. I could have continued to quietly present “Les Enfants de la télé” but I still have other desires, other ambitions and unfortunately I see a reduction in my programs from year to year, since I learned again – Only at the end of June! – that there would be no bonus for Big Heads or Children of TV next season. This is the last sign that confirmed to me that it was time to think about other horizons.”
A new channel and a new big challenge!
This Saturday, July 15, 2023, BFMTV officially announced the arrival of Laurent Ruquier on its antenna, Monday to Thursday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. alongside Julie Hammett for the 2023/2024 season, from October. A new meeting which will find its frontal in front of the programs animated by Cyril Hanouna on C8, Yann Barthès on TMC or even Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine on France 5. The host, for his part, declared to be “very happy to join BFMTV, the reference news channel which offers me the chance to return to what has always fascinated me: the news, whether political, sporting, cultural or societal. This new challenge will be an opportunity for me to deal with and debate information, both by leaving room for the live but also by taking the time to reflect on events about which we sometimes tend to react too quickly without bring in the necessary nuances. As I have always done for thirty years, whether at my beginnings on France Inter or for twenty years on the public service, I will give the floor todifferent ideas. From Michel Polac to Charles Consigny via Eric Zemmour or Eric Naulleau, Aymeric Caron or Yann Moix, Gérard Miller, Audrey Pulvar or Natacha Polony, my goal has always been to listen the multiplicity of opinions while trying to bring my point of view, sometimes singular, fighting in my own way against the subjectivity of activism. I will continue to do so, with Julie Hammett by my side and with new voices and new faces of course. I have only one word to say to you: Hurry!“A decision that could well disturb his companion Hugo Manos, current columnist of TPMP !
