For 25 minutes too quickly spent on dinner time on Wednesday, Robert Charlebois revived Place d’Youville, a fabulous site for seeing concerts that the Summer Festival abandoned a few years ago.

The performance of the 79-year-old lion was part of the series of pop-up FEQ and it was without a shadow of a doubt the most popular since the beginning of the festival. The most touching, the most playful, the most beautiful quite simply.

The public, from 20 to 80 years old, did not hesitate to sing and dance with Charlebois, so fit that he concluded his first song by licking the strings of his guitar.

“I am the real Robert Charlebois, he then said, playfully. I am not Martin Fontaine with a wig.

Not the same as Thursday

Given that he is playing on the Plains of Abraham on Thursday, Robert Charlebois decided that it was best not to perform the same titles on both evenings. So he decided to sing hits that he hasn’t done on stage for a long time.

This is how we reconnected with pleasure with The Frog Song Then Nightmare. “It’s been 20 years since I sang that one,” he advised.

It didn’t seem.

With such beautiful sunshine, why not inject a little Brazilian samba into it all? And There you go I dream of Rio.

Robert Charlebois said goodbye and see you tomorrow while digging up The high heelsthe B-side of the 45 rpm of his hit from the 1980s, I love you like crazy.

A great opportunity to sing with one voice and the light heart that she had put her “high heels, her Bardot ti-scarf and her crinoline dress“.

See you Thursday on the Plains.
