Trudeau will go in person to the G20 and COP26

(Ottawa) Justin Trudeau will attend two international summits in person in Europe in the coming days.

The Prime Minister will leave Ottawa shortly after his new cabinet is sworn in on Tuesday.

His trip will begin with a stop in the Netherlands on Friday for a bilateral visit to The Hague. He will meet his counterpart Mark Rutte there.

He will be in Rome on October 30 and 31 for the G20 Leaders’ Summit. It will be about the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Trudeau also intends to start talking about the transition to clean energy and the fight against climate change, the subject of the meeting that will follow, in Glasgow, UK.

The first two days of November, Mr. Trudeau will therefore participate in COP26.

World leaders must tackle, once again, reducing greenhouse gas emissions

“Together, we will end COVID-19, we will tackle the global climate crisis and we will build a better future for all,” the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office hoped for Monday morning.

“I look forward to working with leaders during the G20 Leaders’ Summit and COP26 so that together we can build a cleaner, more prosperous future for all,” Trudeau wrote.
