The tenors of Nupes met on Saturday July 8 and Sunday July 9 at La Charité-sur-Loire to try to draw a new left, while differences are increasingly felt.
A year ago, the left united: ecologists, rebels, socialists and communists, all under the same banner. A year later, at the festival of ideas in La Charité-sur-Loire (Nièvre), which brought together the left on Sunday July 9, voters regret the divisions. “The Nupes could be a good initiative, but it must be debated with all the people”, comments a man. The subjects of tension are multiplying, in particular around the rally for the Europeans of 2024.
Much criticism from activists
The recent revolts following the death of Nahel have awakened the wounds within the Nupes. Spikes, blows and setbacks exasperate voters. On Sunday morning, three of the leaders showed up together. A facade unit quickly swept away by the harsh criticism of activists. “Was it just an opportunistic electoral deal at the time, or do you really have a vision?”, asked one of them. On leaving, party leaders dismissed the criticism.
