Winners of the Coupe de France, Toulouse FC have received the green light from UEFA. The Haut-Garonne club was authorized to participate in the next Europa League, Friday July 7, by the club financial control chamber of the body that governs European football. Owned by the American company RedBird Capital, like AC Milan, the TFC had seen its qualification called into question “due to a potential conflict with the timeshare rule under Article 5 of the UEFA club competition regulations”according to the press release published by the authority.
UEFA considered that decisions were no longer taken by one person for the two clubs, and that the arrangements financial were sufficient to guarantee the independence of the Italian club, which will compete in the Champions League, and the TFC.
