Haute Couture Week in Paris | Fendi scrolls jewelry women

(Paris) “Of flesh and stone”: the Fendi woman was like a jewel in the collection presented Thursday in Paris, on the last day of haute couture week.

In front of an audience of celebrities including rapper Cardi B, singers Shakira and Camila Cabello, or fashion pope Anna Wintour, models followed one another in flowing and draped beige outfits, brightly colored dresses with structured or embellished cuts of corsets.

“We worked on a model based on that of the high jewelry of Delfina Delettrez Fendi, artistic director of the house’s jewelry,” explained the creator of Fendi’s women’s and haute couture collections, Kim Jones.

Black diamonds, rubies, sapphires: “if there are no jewels, the idea is always present through the color palette”, added the British designer.

Flesh-colored dresses counterbalance the brilliance of green or red. The minaudières held in a hand adorned with rings are worn tight to the chest, like a kind of jewellery.

The “furs” of chic dressing gowns are made of neoprene.

Instead of the traditional wedding dress closing the haute couture runways, Kim Jones presented a casual-looking shimmering pink suit that required 1,200 hours of handmade work.
