The Israeli army is carrying out one of the largest operations ever in the Jenin camp in the West Bank. At least 11 Palestinians were killed and around 100 injured. 3,000 residents have fled the camp, which has become a stronghold of the Palestinian armed forces.
It is a column of nearly 1,000 Israeli soldiers which takes possession of the Palestinian city of Jenin. On arrival, shots are exchanged. The Israeli army claimed to be making arrests. Armored bulldozers raise the pavement of the alleys, strewn with explosives which prevent the progress of the soldiers. These men then enter the homes of the Palestinians. Families are scared. In the city, the army searches for caches of weapons.
300 Palestinian fighters
This is the second operation launched by the Israelis in Jenin in ten days. According to the Israeli Prime Minister, “Jenin has become a haven for terrorists”. The executive intends to put an end to it. Inside the city, the Palestinian fighters would be 300. The objective of the Israeli army is to eliminate them, operation after operation.
