What we know about this suspect is that he is a resident of the city of Kramatorsk, accused of having sent to Russian soldiers, a few hours before the airstrike, a video of the restaurant which was targeted and destroyed. A video that would have allowed the Russians to specify the coordinates of their fire, and therefore to specifically target this very popular pizzeria, frequented by Ukrainian soldiers of course but above all by civilians.
He faces 15 years in prison.
It was Volodymyr Zelensky himself who announced his arrest in his video message on Wednesday evening. “Anyone who helps Russian terrorists destroy lives deserves the maximum punishment.” says the Ukrainian president. “The Kramatorsk suspect will be prosecuted for state treason. He faces life imprisonment.”
In truth, Thursday morning the suspect was charged with treason, Ukrainian law provides for a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
Since the beginning of the war, the Ukrainian justice must regularly rule on this type of collaboration, of people who provide the Russians with information to correct the accuracy of their missile fire.
