The prosecution requested, Wednesday June 28, six months in prison against the Russian artist Piotr Pavlenski, for having broadcast in February 2020 the intimate videos which led to the fall of Benjamin Griveaux, former deputy and former door- word of the government of Edouard Philippe. The prosecutor asked for a six-month suspended prison sentence for her partner Alexandra de Taddeo, to whom these videos had been sent during a brief relationship with the ex-minister in mid-2018.
The 39-year-old Russian and the 32-year-old Frenchwoman were on trial before the Paris Criminal Court for having, in 2020, recorded and broadcast, without his consent, sexual images of Benjamin Griveaux, who was not present at the hearing. In February 2020, faced with the scandal, the politician was forced to abandon his campaign for mayor of Paris.
Piotr Pavlenski asserted his right to silence in court on Wednesday, when Alexandra de Taddeo defended the “artistic freedom”. The two defendants faced two years in prison and a fine of 60,000 euros.
