“Tonight mum won’t be here to say goodnight, to hug you and remind you how much I love you my princess. I am devastated, demolished, dead inside”, wrote the mother of little Léana, attaching to her Facebook post a photo of the “love of her life”, displaying a broad smile.

“Another angel gone [beaucoup] too soon,” she laments.

It was not far from the house of this mother of four children that the inconceivable happened, around 6:30 p.m., in the greenish water swimming pool of a neighboring residence, on Principale Street.

“I was in the house when I heard my eldest daughter screaming horribly in the yard. When I came out, I saw her trying to resuscitate our little neighbour,” told the Log the owner of the residence where the incident took place, Kasuku Aluma.

Her children used to hang out with little Léana’s brothers and sisters, who went to the same school, she adds. On Monday, the little ones were having fun together when tragedy struck.

Despite resuscitation maneuvers, the death of the girl was found in the hospital and confirmed by the Sûreté du Québec.

This tragedy comes just three months after Léana’s father, Guillaume Michaud, lost his life in a road accident.

The 27-year-old man died after hitting a Hydro-Quebec pole on March 25, several media reported.
