An object for collectors, published in 600 vinyl copies by the Trésor national label in its effort to revalorize forgotten Quebec music – or shunned by the industry, as far as Isinglass is concerned. After having contributed to the foundation of Men Without Hats, Jeremie Arrobas and Michael Gabriel launch Isinglass which, despite the interest of the scene underground Montreal and the invitations to tour as far as the United States, will never find a record company to publish their recordings, gathered here for the first time on this compilation — a label German had however dusted off the four best titles of the album in 2013. With its nervous electronic rhythms, its muffled vocals and its inspired melodies, it is easy to imagine Isinglass surfing the new wave/cold wave wave in vogue at the era. The urgency of Much More than Thisthe ingenious rhythmic programming of Right/Wrongthe electro button of One 3 Fourit could have, it should have, left a mark.
