Will Tom Cruise still conquer the box office this summer? After having obtained a monster success last year with Top Gun: Maverick, the popular actor and producer seems to have hit another home run with the seventh film in the saga Impossible mission which was launched with great fanfare on Monday evening in Rome, three weeks before its release in Quebec.

According to the first comments published on social networks after the screening on Monday evening, this Mission: Impossible – Death Toll Part One brings together all the ingredients to become the success of the summer in dark rooms.
For Perri Nemiroff, critic for the specialized site Collider, the film directed by Christopher McQuarrie is “a new success for the franchise”.
“Once again, the film dazzles with a staging and sets that manage to immerse us in the heart of the action,” she writes.
The newspaper critic Globe and Mail, Barry Hertz, described meanwhile Mission: Impossible 7 as “a colossal spectacle, with action scenes that follow one after the other”, going so far as to compare this new opus to Implicationsthe excellent sixth part of the saga.

“Mission accomplished and expectations rewarded! Mission: Impossible 7 is a total new show from Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie,” he wrote on Twitter.
“Espionage often takes precedence over action, but there are some hefty bits of bravery. Best action saga, it does not move, ”he adds.

Announced as the penultimate installment of Agent Ethan Hunt’s film adventures, Mission: Impossible – Death Toll Part One is the first film in the franchise to hit theaters since Mission: Impossible – Aftermath, released in the summer of 2018.
Started in 2020, the filming of this seventh film in the saga has been interrupted several times due to the different waves of COVID-19.
Tom Cruise, who will celebrate his 61ste birthday on July 3, also caused a lot of ink to flow last year by posting on social networks a 9-minute video revealing behind the scenes of the filming of a vertiginous stunt, in which he jumped from a cliff at the wheel of a ‘a motorcycle.
Since the release of the first Impossible missionin 1996, films in the franchise grossed over $3.5 billion at the worldwide box office.
