New disturbances. Violent thunderstorms are expected in the evening and overnight from Tuesday June 20 to Wednesday June 21, announces Météo France. Seventeen departments in the South-West and Massif Central have been placed on orange alert.

These are Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Tarn, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn-et-Garonne, Dordogne, Lot, from Averyron, Cantal, Corrèze, Puy-de-Dôme, Allier, Loire and Haute-Loire.

Hail and strong gusts of wind

Since this morning, a new stormy degradation is present on the South-West and will go up on the Pays de la Loire, then quickly towards the Center-Val de Loire, Normandy, Ile-de-France and Hauts-de- France.

The risk will spread from the Pyrenees to the North-East. In the afternoon, a more virulent stormy axis will take shape from the Basque Country to Burgundy-Franche-Comté with potentially violent storms with hail and very strong gusts of wind.

These thunderstorms will last into the night and will remain locally violent. Brittany and the Cotentin keep a variable weather with some showers. The Mediterranean rim will remain isolated from this degradation and will benefit from fine clearings. Some showers will nevertheless be possible on Corsica.
