(Washington) The latest superhero movie from Warner Bros studios, The Flashclimbed to the top of the North American box office for the weekend of its release, according to estimates on Sunday from the specialized firm Exhibitor Relations, but with receipts below the forecasts of the experts.
The feature film, with an estimated budget of 200 million dollars, raised 55 million dollars from Friday to Sunday in the United States and Canada, less than the expectations of professionals in the sector (between 60 and 80 million dollars).
In The FlashEzra Miller takes on his Barry Allen persona and uses his superpowers to time travel in hopes of saving his family, but inevitably alters the future and has to call on different fellow superheroes than he imagined.
Same disappointment for elemental from Disney: with a projected $29.5 million, the animated film, which takes place in the city of Element City, where inhabitants related to the four elements (fire, water, earth and air) live together on the second place of the podium but very far from the usual performances of Pixar.
In third position we find the last episode of the saga of the spider-man, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewith $27.8 million.
The film propels its hero, Miles Morales, the new face of Spider-Man, into a world made up of parallel dimensions (multiverse).
Fourth, Transformers: Rise of the Beastsaccumulates 20 million stacks.
And just below is the live action version of The Little Mermaid from Disney, with 11.6 million for its fourth week of operation.
