The singer-songwriter Ariane Roy won the Félix-Leclerc 2023 prize, awarded as part of the Francos.
She distinguished herself in the eyes of the jury because of “her originality, the quality and relevance of her creative approach and by the promising future of her career on a national and international scale”, specifies the press release issued by the Francos .
The artist received his prize in front of his audience on Wednesday, during his outdoor concert. Ariane Roy distinguished herself ahead of Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Marilyne Léonard, Thaïs and Choses Sauvages, among others.
The Félix-Leclerc prize, awarded since 1996, comes with a $2,500 scholarship from SOCAN, another $1,000 from Groupe Éditorial Musinfo and an invitation to participate in the Francofolies de La Rochelle in 2024.
