(Port Moresby) The US military will have “unimpeded access” to military bases in Papua New Guinea to “position equipment” and will have “exclusive use” of certain areas where “construction” can be carried out, according to the historic security pact signed at the end of May.
Since its signing, details of the pact had been kept secret, before the full text, obtained by AFP, was presented to Papua New Guinea’s parliament on Wednesday evening.
