Justin Miller, a young TikToker, had a stroke of luck after buying a used, and even damaged, chair at a garage sale in the luxurious Beverly Hills district of Los Angeles.
The young man, accustomed to buying and reselling antique furniture, first made the find on Facebook Marketplace, where the piece was also displayed.

He found the armchair interesting and rather rare and decided to go and see it in person. The young woman selling it was having a yard sale, but had to bring everything in, because that type of sale was not allowed in the neighborhood.
She therefore had to get rid of a host of items. She knew the piece of furniture was worth a lot of money, but she didn’t know its true value.
Justin Miller, 33, had however checked before going there.

According to his research, the 1935 Danish Frits Henningsen armchair could fetch $100,000 if sold at auction. The particular taupe color was even rarer, and therefore increased the value.
A similar copy had already been sold for $220,000 on the internet.

His chair will have finally been sold for more than $100,000 on a specialized auction site, an amount for which he will be able to keep $85,000.
He had paid $50 for the furniture.
