The former Olympic champion and French world swimming champion, Yannick Agnel, has been indicted and placed under judicial supervision for rape and sexual assault on a minor.
On leaving the Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin) court, Yannick Agnel made no statement. The former Olympic champion was indicted for rape and sexual assault on a minor. An indictment which comes shortly after a custody which will have lasted 48 hours. During this period, the swimmer detailed his relationship with the alleged victim.
The allegations against the former double Olympic champion date back to 2016 when the swimmer was training in a Mulhouse swimming club. Five years later, the complaint was finally filed last summer. After a few months of investigations, a judicial investigation is therefore opened for rape and sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor. Arrested Thursday at his Parisian home, Yannick Agnel was finally released Saturday evening and placed under judicial supervision while the prosecution wanted to place him in pre-trial detention.
