The National Rally publishes, Thursday, June 8, a counter-report that France Inter was able to consult exclusively on Wednesday. This is a 70-page text to respond to the report of the parliamentary commission of inquiry into foreign interference, officially published on Thursday too, but which has already partly leaked to the press last week.

>> A parliamentary inquiry report accuses the RN of being a “transmission belt” of Russian power, Marine Le Pen denounces “a political trial”

The report of the commission – written by the deputy of the majority Constance Le Grip – qualifies in particular the RN of “russian power transmission belt”. It is therefore to respond, among other things, to these conclusions that the far-right party has decided to respond.

“We are playing the next presidential election”

In this counter-report, the RN accuses the rapporteur of the majority of having sabotaged the work of the commission. He regrets that many requests for hearings have been refused by the deputies of the majority. The National Rally also points to the fact that American economic interference has been reduced. Contacted by France Inter, a party executive confides: “What we are playing is the next presidential election.” To establish its text, the RN also relies on expert hearings which are sometimes held behind closed doors.

As a reminder, the RN filed a complaint against Constance le Grip for having leaked the still secret report to the press. For his part, the environmental deputy Julien Bayou – member of the commission – will write to the office of the National Assembly to ask him to seize the prosecution for false testimony. He criticizes Marine Le Pen for not having answered clearly concerning the circumstances of the repurchase of the Russian loan.

The RN had requested this commission of inquiry to put an end to suspicions of links between Russia and the French party which had to take out a loan of 9 million euros in 2014 from a Russian bank (First Czech Russian Bank), accused of being close to Vladimir Putin.
