The governor of the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, on Sunday June 4 called on residents to evacuate the areas subject to bombardments which have intensified in recent days. According to him, these evacuations must make it possible to “save lives”. The district of Chebekino, a town of 40,000 inhabitants in the Belgorod region, was hit by hundreds of artillery fire which left several dead and forced thousands of civilians to flee this week. A girl who died in Dnipro. An airstrike hit Dnipro in central Ukraine on Saturday, killing a two-year-old girl and injuring 22 people, according to Ukrainian authorities. Wagner ready to send units to Belgorod. The boss of the paramilitary group Wagner assured Saturday that he was ready to send his troops to defend the Russian region of Belgorod. “If the Department of Defense [russe] don’t stop what is happening in the Belgorod region (…) where Russian territories are in fact being captured, so obviously we will get there”said Yevgeny Prigozhin.
