June 8 has been proclaimed World Oceans Day by the United Nations.
In Quebec, the preceding days will be marked by activities organized by the Blue Organization, whose cleaning of the banks had made it possible to collect 1.1 tons of waste near watercourses in 2022. This major cleaning is back June 3 and 4.
On June 8, the organization is joining forces with the National Film Board (NFB) for the presentation of a panel discussion bringing together experts around the theme of the ocean, video projections of the School of ocean on the Wilder Building, next door to the NFB in the Quartier des Spectacles, as well as a concert by the group Qualité Motel and its guests, including L’Isle and Franky Fade, at the Quai de l’Horloge.
