The announcement will not please the presidential camp. The chairman of the finance committee of the National Assembly, the Insoumis Eric Coquerel, gave the green light, Tuesday, May 30, to the examination of the bill to repeal the retirement age at 64, rejecting the argument of its unconstitutionality brandished by the presidential majority and the executive.
MP LFI claimed a “soft app” of the Constitution in the name of the defense of “parliamentary initiative” and “right of opposition”, unlike the President of the Assembly, Yaël Braun Pivet (Renaissance). The latter had assured Tuesday morning on France 2 that she “take responsibility” to prevent the vote on this text, expected Wednesday in committee and June 8 in the hemicycle. The bill has little chance of succeeding, but a possible positive vote gives the majority sweats, which wishes to make the text inadmissible.
