Fight against social fraud: Gabriel Attal reveals the measures of his plan

Gabriel Attal, Minister Delegate for Public Accounts, unveiled the measures of his plan to fight social fraud in an interview with Parisian released Tuesday, May 30. The journalist Axel de Tarlé, present on the 8 Hours set, first explains what social fraud consists of: “It’s when you unduly receive social benefits.“ Axel de Tarlé then indicates that this fraud weighs between six and eight billion euros.

“Double the recoveries”

“The objective is to double the recoveries”he adds. “It involves tracking down false sick leaves, (…) the vital card scam – the idea is to merge the vital card with the identity card, even if it is very complicated to do technically – check that recipients live in France for at least nine months of the year so that they can receive family allowances and the minimum old age, detect elderly pensioners who live abroad, who may have died but continue to receive pensions”cites Axel de Tarlé in particular.
