Thousands of cars parked along the road, and an anarchic situation in Viols-en-Laval (Hérault), Sunday May 28. Many of them joined a wild party, located on a former military field, near Montpellier. About 6,000 people gathered around a musical stage. This rave-party has consequences on the peaceful life of the small surrounding villages.
“We are taken a bit hostage”
In a restaurant, the tables remained empty. Fearing road difficulties, customers canceled their reservations. “It’s infuriating, already with everything we’ve been through before. (…) We are taken hostage, laments a chef. About fifty gendarmes were on hand to monitor this musical and festive gathering, which should end on Tuesday, May 30 in the morning.
