“It’s not up to the parties to decide which journalists are attached to their monitoring”, wrote Saturday, May 27 on Twitter the general manager of BFMTV Marc-Olivier Fogiel. The continuous news TV channel is indeed the subject of a boycott by the National Rally, France Inter learned on Friday from several elected representatives of the far-right party, confirming information from the Politico media. The RN accuses BFM of having recruited a journalist from the Quotidien program to follow party news.
“The RN is considered with as much attention by our editorial staff as the other main parties in our country”assures Marc-Olivier Fogiel defending “a competent and experienced journalist”. Sophie Dupont dealt with national political news for Daily, a program with which the RN has very tense relations. Since the 2022 presidential campaign, the far-right party has refused to accredit Quotidien journalists.
