Nurse killed in Reims: carers united in the face of mourning

When gathering in the courtyard of the CHU de Reims (Marne), no one speaks. On all the faces of the colleagues of Carène Mezino can be read the same seriousness and immense sadness. Both inside and outside the hospital, silence is present by way of contemplation. Carène, nurse and mother, was murdered in Reims hospital while she was there to treat. The minute of silence took place in all hospitals in France, from Rennes to Marseille.

The government reiterates its desire to end the violence

Everyone wants to say no to the violence that has become their daily life. “There is verbal violence, it has become physical attacks, almost daily”, reports a caregiver. Patients also joined in the sadness of caregivers. Elisabeth Borne and the Minister of Health François Braun also joined in the minute of silence and reiterated the government’s desire to put an end to this violence.
