An Irish rocker who violently swung her head to the rhythm of the music while performing in front of thousands of fans reportedly broke her neck in the middle of a concert.

The 27-year-old singer, who was rocking her head violently to the rhythm of the song, would not have noticed the injury until she lost her voice shortly after, due to the collapse of her larynx.

At the time of the incident, the Irishwoman, who had won best album of the year at Ireland’s Choice Music Prize, was on tour.

While she’s far from the only singer to sustain throat and neck injuries, vocal physiotherapist Nikki Franklin nonetheless called the “extreme” CMAT injuries “pretty unique,” she said. he confided to the British media.

“Singers are athletes in that little area of ​​their neck, their throat, and their voice box. We see them using their bodies in different ways and putting a lot of pressure on that area,” she reportedly added.

Fortunately, the singer announced her return to the stage, stating that she would already be cured.
