A teenager in a stolen vehicle arrested in Drummondville

A teenager in a vehicle stolen in Quebec was arrested after a crazy police chase in Drummondville on Sunday evening.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ), who were called around 4:45 p.m., located the suspect vehicle on Highway 20 westbound at kilometer 181.

The driver took exit 177 for Boulevard Saint-Joseph and refused to stop before continuing on his way.

In his escape, he tried to shake off the police who were on his trail, before exiting the road at the entrance to Highway 20 eastbound.

The suspect, who abandoned the vehicle to continue his escape on foot, was quickly located and apprehended by the police, said a spokeswoman for the SQ.

The police discovered that the teenager did not have a driver’s license, before driving him to the station to be met by the investigators.

The suspect faces charges of receiving, absconding and dangerous driving, it was added.
