A day that looks like “busiest of the year” on the roads of France, according to Bison Futé. Sunday, May 21 is classified as black “at the national level in the direction of returns”, the body announced in its forecast for the Ascension Bridge (in PDF). Generally, “Traffic will be extremely difficult”, he warns. “Significant traffic difficulties are expected on all the main roads of the country”, explains Bison Futé, who recommends, “as far as possible”, of“avoid driving that day”.

The road information center estimates that traffic difficulties will be particularly severe on the A6, A7, A9, A10, A11, A13 and on the N165. “They will be present from the end of the morning and will last until very late in the evening, particularly in Ile-de-France”, alert the body.

In the direction of returns, Bison Futé thus advises motorists to reach Ile-de-France as well as the major metropolitan areas of France in the morning. He invites people who will be on the road to avoid several motorways: the A13 between Caen and Paris between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m., the A10 between Bordeaux and Paris from 11 a.m. to midnight, or the A7 motorway, between Marseille and Lyon, from 9 a.m. to midnight.
