20,000 people gathered in Villegongis (Indre), Friday May 19, for the 30th anniversary of Teknival. A rally not authorized by the prefecture, but which will, it seems, not be stopped. “For now, the mood remains calm, you hear the music behind me, but it’s a good-natured spirit”, says journalist Thomas Cuny, live for 12/13. The authorities want to secure and protect this Teknival.
80 people rescued overnight
“Significant resources are mobilized, water has in particular been requisitioned for festival-goers. The firefighters, the civil security, are present on site to collect any injuries”, reports the journalist. Since Thursday evening, at least 80 people have been rescued, including one in absolute emergency. “240 gendarmes were mobilized, including a helicopter that regularly flies over the site”, explains Thomas Cuny. For the time being, no overflow has been reported and the safety device will be maintained at least until the end of the event.
