Last week was the 75th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel. This week, the Palestinians commemorated what they call the “Nakba”, a “catastrophe” for their country. To talk about the subject, franceinfo junior hands his microphone to students from the Aretha Franklin college web radio station in Drancy in Seine-Saint-Denis. They ask their questions Frédéric Métézeau, Radio France correspondent in Jerusalem.
Samy opens the show with his first question: “Who and why was Israel created?” asks the schoolboy at the microphone. “What is the origin of the conflict?” Kaori then asks. Mohamed speaks in turn: “Why do they have to fight or kill people to have these territories?” Samy wants to know how many victims this conflict has made. “How is life for both Palestinian and Israeli citizens? Is life hard?” continues the college student. Finally, Alex-Rodrigue wonders if there will really be an end to this conflict.
