“1:15 p.m. on Sunday” delves into the heart of the most famous Formula 1 race in the world: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The upcoming edition, next June, will be the hundredth. Story through the portraits of three amateur pilots, in a series of four episodes.
This new edition of 1:15 p.m. on Sunday” (Twitter, #1:15 p.m.) propose a new series on a legendary place and a mythical race: the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary on June 10 and 11.
This is the story of two Breton brothers, Matthieu and Jean-Baptiste, and their best friend François. Passionate about motorsport, they are all three amateur drivers, and will live a childhood dream: to take the start of the biggest race together, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This race is, along with the Tour de France and Roland-Garros, one of the biggest sporting events in the country. The public is always there : the 300,000 tickets for the next edition sold out in a few days.
A festival that brings together thousands of fans
Departure time is approaching and with it, the promise of many twists and turns. But before the competition, there is the popular festival. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is also a festival that attracts tens of thousands of enthusiasts where the figure of the driver is always adored. This is what Jean-Baptiste, Matthieu and François will discover.
After years of waiting and preparing, D-Day finally arrives for our pilots. They will discover the very high level of this competition, a ruthless race.
