Concordia University awarded nine new honorary doctorates on Tuesday. Elisapie Isaac is among the recipients.

The Montreal university particularly praised its efforts to create and produce, in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the first television program broadcast across Canada to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day and entitled The Great Solstice.
Note that Elisapie’s fourth solo album, Inuktitutexpected this fall, will consist of Inuktitut renditions of rock and pop hits from the 1960s to 1990s.
Indian author and diplomat Vikas Swarup is also among those honored by Concordia University. The Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire was taken from his novel Q&A published in 2005. The philanthropists Sandra Chartrand and Alain Bouchard are also there.
