A child is in critical condition after a fire broke out in a dwelling located above a family daycare center in Laval on Monday. Two other people, including a child, were also seriously injured.
Around 5:20 p.m., the Laval Fire Department was called to the scene of the fire, located on 8e street in the Laval-des-Rapides district.
Quickly, the fire which would have started in the accommodation located above the daycare was brought under control. The establishment below was spared.

Three people, including two children, were transported to hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The authorities fear for the life of one of the two young people.
A command post was established on site to establish the circumstances that led to the fire.
