Édith Lemay, Sébastien Pelletier and their four children have returned from their trip after exploring the world as a family for a year.

It was after a terrible diagnosis of retinitis pigmentosa, which afflicts three of the Boucherville couple’s four children, that they decided to leave.
This rare genetic disease causes progressive vision loss.
“We decided to show them the beauty of the world before they were no longer able to see it. The goal is to fill their visual memory,” said Edith Lemay in an interview last September on Benoît Dutrizac’s program on QUB radio.
The family left in March 2022 and returned home in April 2023.
They were on Good Morning America this week to share their experience.
During this interview, Mia, the eldest, shared her favorite moment of the adventure.
“I think my favorite moment is when I got on a hot air balloon in Turkey. It was magical and incredible.”
Leo, the only child not living with this diagnosis, said he was “lucky, but sad at the same time for [ses] brothers and sisters who will lose their sight.
