A teenager looking for a job falls into the clutches of a pimp

A 16-year-old teenager from Abitibi who was just looking to get a job unfortunately fell into the clutches of an alleged pimp, who led her into prostitution for several months. Police have arrested the suspect, but fear he may have had more casualties.

This sordid affair began last December when the teenager, living in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, was actively looking for a job to make some money.

According to our information, it was a member of her entourage who encouraged her to contact David Pellerin, 39, a resident of Saint-Léon-le-Grand, in Mauricie.

The latter was open to offering him “highly paying” work.

Quickly, the teenager understood that the job in question was one of prostitute.

Thus, between the months of December and May, the 16-year-old girl would have been forced to sell her body in different regions of the province, while her alleged pimp filled his pockets.

David Pellerin was finally able to be arrested Tuesday on the territory of Longueuil by the police officers of the Integrated Squad for the Fight against Pimping (EILP).

Because of the modus operandi used to recruit the teenager, the police believe that Pellerin could have made more victims in Quebec.

David Pellerin, who used the pseudonym “Dave Plerin” in his online communications, appeared at the Trois-Rivières courthouse on Wednesday on eight counts, including pimping, luring and having recruited, detained, hidden or hosted a minor who offers or renders sexual services for consideration.

The offenses with which Pellerin is charged took place in the areas of Saint-Léon-le-Grand, Longueuil and Val-d’Or.

Anyone who has information about David Pellerin or his actions is invited to contact the Criminal Information Center of the Sûreté du Québec, at 1 800 659-4264.
