Quebecor realized in the first quarter of the current fiscal year net earnings attributable to shareholders of $120.9 million, or $0.52 per basic share, down $500,000 compared to the corresponding period of the ‘Previous exercice.
Net profit went from $117.1 million to $113.5 million.
The Quebec telecommunications giant specifies that the Telecommunications sector posted an increase of $21.6 million in revenues, or 2.4%.
For its part, TVA Group suffered a drop in revenues of $8.4 million. The company explains that Groupe TVA’s financial results were affected by investments in content in a context of fierce competition and by the absence of foreign mega-productions in film and audiovisual services.
In one year, Quebecor’s revenues increased by 2.5% to $1.12 billion.
