The town hall of Saint-Cyr-l’École (Yvelines) reported to the courts, suspecting the holding of an “Aryan rock” concert, Saturday May 6, in the communal hall Simone Veil, learned franceinfo Tuesday 9 May with the mayor of the town, confirming information from Mediapart. The mayor said she was fooled by the organizers when she discovered photos of the evening on Twitter with Nazi salutes.

The mayor of the town, Sonia Brau, says she recognized the hall of her town in these photos, photos taken inside the town hall inaugurated last year in honor of the former minister, survivor of the Holocaust. It is now up to the prosecutor of Versailles to decide on the legal action to be taken.

A room rented to an individual

Contacted by franceinfo, the mayor claims to have been cheated, because the room was indeed rented that evening to an individual and not for a festival of neo-Nazis with supremacist, anti-Semitic and Islamophobic texts. Several residents complained about the music on Saturday evening. On a flyer published on social networks, several small groups, including the organizers of the Parisian demonstration “the committee of May 9” called to celebrate the event while keeping the location of the concert secret. Laptops were also prohibited for participants.

Tuesday, during questions to governments in the Assembly, Gérald Darmanin asked the prefects to ban all ultra-right demonstrations, after that of Saturday in Paris which caused controversy for having been authorized.
