It is true, as the author says, that the Catholic Church was not the founder of the Mouvement Desjardins, but he did not point out that its founder, Alphonse Desjardins, a practicing Catholic, was deeply inspired and animated by the social doctrine of the Church, concretely by the encyclical Rerum novarum, which Pope Leo XIII had just published.
