Two scenarios that announce the disappearance of Quebec

THE think tank the Initiative of the Century convinced Ottawa to make Canada a country of 100 million people by the end of the century. Already, the federal immigration thresholds are adjusted in this perspective.

This scenario will lead either to the linguistic and demographic drowning of Quebec, or to its political marginalization.

Scenario 1. Quebec, to maintain its political weight in the federation, decides to also increase its immigration thresholds. Small problem: he is already unable to francize and integrate the immigrants he currently receives.

Assimilation

If Montreal and Laval have been anglicized for 20 years, it is essentially due to our immigration thresholds. Raising the thresholds will not only lead to a demographic drop in the historic French-speaking majority, but quite simply a collapse of French.

In other words, to maintain its political weight, Quebec would have to sacrifice its cultural and linguistic identity.

Bad dealis not it ?

Scenario 2. Quebec, aware of the suicidal nature of this massive immigration policy, decides not to raise the thresholds.

He will then see his political weight gradually melt away in the federation. Eventually, it will be just an insignificant province. And moreover, its cultural and linguistic identity will also eventually disappear. But it will take a little longer.

These two scenarios condemn Quebec to assimilation.

Drowning

There will still be a territory called Quebec. But it will no longer be that of the Quebec people. Unless we name “Quebec people” an anglicized population dominated by multiculturalist ideology where the historic French-speaking majority will be no more than a residual community. We can always play with words.

Of course, there will still be Francophones in the regions. They will no longer represent anything but the increasingly reduced trace of a dying people who, through negligence and cowardice, will have become a minority at home, then a stranger in their own country.
