(Montreal) Negotiations continued for a second consecutive day, Thursday, between the union of 800 warehouse workers and the Société des alcools du Québec. After a short break, talks will resume on Monday.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), affiliated with the FTQ, made the announcement late Thursday afternoon.
Bargaining resumed Wednesday morning, after CUPE local members rejected by 86% the tentative agreement reached with the employer on November 29.
CUPE has reported “fruitful discussions” at the tables since negotiations resumed. However, he did not want to give an interview, saying he wanted to reserve all his energies for negotiation.

“As the holidays approach, we are doing everything we can to reach a new agreement. We are taking a few days off, because the two parties have to do their homework, in order to come back on Monday with proposals, ”said CUPE union adviser on the matter, Michel Gratton.
The strike has still not restarted in distribution centers and delivery. The union had agreed to suspend its strike to resume negotiations.
Asked whether the restocking of the tablets was going well, the management of the SAQ replied: “We have two priorities at the moment: to reach an agreement satisfactory to both parties and to replenish our network as well as our partners. ”
