She was born in 1947 in London, and met Charles 25 years later, during a polo match. Charles is seduced by his outspokenness and their shared passion for horses and nature. But the weight of traditions brought him to his arranged marriage with Diana Spencer.
The British U-turn
Charles confesses to having been unfaithful, and the British newspapers are unleashed against Camilla. At the tragic death of Diana, the couple is discreet. Their engagement was announced in early 2005. Their marriage was celebrated in Windsor. The naturalness of Camilla and the relaxation of Charles in her presence, in addition to her commitment to charities, end up convincing the most skeptical. She finds her place including with Elizabeth II, who decides that she will be queen consort. If she wears the crown in spite of herself, it is under the name of Queen Camilla that she will henceforth be known.
