In 1997, France Gall decided to stop her career following the death of Michel Berger. Sony Music then calls Pascal Obispo to ask him towrite for the singer. But the latter refuses the creations of Pascal Obispo. “It’s Michel but it’s not Michel,” she told him.
Almost 25 years later, Pascal Obispo reopens Pandora’s Box and offers “France”, an album in which he interpret himself those songs that were once written for another. Songs that have sometimes been offered to other artists and have become for some very large tubes : “Sing” (Florent Pagny), “You will find” (Natasha St Pier), “His reason for being” (Sidaction), “The key” (Patricia Kaas) …
The album, also loaded with unreleased tracks, was recorded with a musical identity that we could associate with the albums of France and Michel at the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s. This album is a real success and shows how Obispo marked, by his creations, the musical history of the French song .
